Shafiq Hicks is a sought after vocalist, actor and teaching artist. Hicks has collaborated with many artists including as Andrea Boccelli, Estelle, Aretha Franklin and Sam Smith. As an actor, Hicks has toured with RENT: The 20th and 25th Anniversary Tours and performed in regional theater productions such as Once On This Island, Beauty and The Beast, and Jekyll and Hyde. As a vocalist, Hicks has enjoyed many opportunities to record, perform and workshop. Hicks has been a soloist for Mozart’s Requiem, Brahms’ Requiem, a number of Bach’s cantatas,, and Margaret Bonds’ Credo, to name a few. Hicks also runs the private voice studio, “Vocal Journeys”, where vocalists of any level can find themselves in their own voice.
