Described by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a dignified and beautiful singer, bass-baritone Paul Max Tipton performs oratorio, opera, and chamber music on international stages. He recently made solo debuts in Seattle and Tokyo with Seattle Symphony & Bach Collegium Japan respectively, and was called “gloriously godly” by the Dallas Morning News in a production of John Eccles’s Semele with American Baroque Opera. Recent recordings include the role of Christus in Bach’s St. John Passion for Avie Records with Cantata Collective under Nic McGegan & solo bass cantatas by Nicolaus Bruhns with Masaki Suzuki at Yale Institute of Sacred Music for BIS. He is a student of James Taylor, Luretta Bybee, Martin Katz, and Ted Taylor, and holds an MMus from Yale University. www.paulmaxtipton.com
